MAY 28, 2013, SAN DIEGO, CA – ABC’s Extreme Weight Loss show is a unique undertaking that’s unlike anything you’ve ever seen on TV. Each season documents the amazing makeover of eight courageous, obese individuals who set out to safely lose half of their body weight over the course of a year. The metamorphosis is truly amazing. The third Season premiers tonight at 8/7c with Twins, David and Rebecca going through a Navy SEAL training at well-known San Diego fitness establishment, SEALFIT.

Twins David (470 pounds) & Rebecca (398 pounds ) didn’t think much about their weight as they were growing up in North Prairie, WI. On their 23rd birthday, Show trainer/transformation specialist, Chris Powell (The 650-Pound Virgin) decides to help the twins with a 90-day challenge launching at the SEALFIT campus in Encinitas, CA. At the beginning of his weight loss journey, David said he’d always wanted to go through Navy SEAL training to show his dad that “he was a man.” Chris takes the twins on his toughest milestone challenge to a rigorous “Kokoro” training camp modeled on Navy Seal Hell Week and designed to forge mental toughness.  With an upbringing that led the Twins to use food as an outlet, can Chris and the SEAL inspired trainings stop old habits from reemerging? The discipline and lifestyle changes created at the SEALFIT “Kokoro”

Camps are life lessons that create a new, unbeatable, state of mind and a new way of orienting oneself in the world. I watched this episode last night.  ABC only gave a small amount of time to Mr. Divine, his team & his organization.  While I'm sure that there were class limitations put in place specifically for David & Rebecca, I was pleased to see the toughness as well as compassion shown them by the Team Leaders.  Probably wouldn't have been the best time to lay them out & kick sand in their faces.  Well done fellas - SEALFIT was successfully shown in a positive light.
