FUTUREFROGMAN: SEAL training is the “most” demanding, toughest, brutal, excruciating training known to man. The percentage of DORs (Dropped on Request) is a whopping 80percent. Physically, mentally prepared trainees drop occasionally during “HELLWEEK”. So you’re saying that you have the fortitude to be a United States Navy SEAL? Oh and let me ask you this…….. In a combat life and death situation are you prepared to make that decision to make that ultimate sacrifice, are you willingly to give up everything : die for your country , for your teammates, risk losing your family are they ready to lose you, are you willingly prepared to sacrifice your life so that others are free and may live? You let me know your answer. Becoming a United States Navy SEAL isn’t easy . A United States Navy SEAL isn’t the job for everyone. A SEAL cannot just be picked out of a crowed. If that was the case there’d be more than .5% of the NAVY that are SEALs. I plan to go through BUD/S and in a lot of ways; honestly as a Minnesotan and I tell the truth; I’ am a better swimmer than many people. Like Minnesotans I’ve been swimming since the age of ten, as physically prepared as I’ am the mental ability to tolerate cold is by far the greatest mettle obstacle, fear, and desire. Even as downright utterly prepared as I’ am honestly I don’t think I’m ready for the intense challenges awaiting me. If you think you have the fortitude, determination, integrity, desire and the ability to exceedingly surpass me? Then you might just have a chance. MY PERSPECTIVE: this was was my thoughts and what i wrote to him. all that stuff about being ready for a combat life or death situation, whatever, let me ask you when have you ever been in a life or death combat situation? Ill tell you this right now, 100% of the people that sign up for BUD/s aren't ready for that, including you. if you say you are, your putting on an act. All the training that you go through is what gets you ready to make that decision, and plus you cant know how to react until you are actually put into that situation. Another thing you being a great swimmer has nothing to do with making it through BUD/s there have been guys that excel in everything at BUD/s but arejust mentally weak, and there have been guys who struggle with the evolutions but are mentally strong. its all MIND OVER MATTER buddy. SEAL/s want a team guy, becoming strong is what your there for, they'll get you strong and fit, thats part of being a SEAL. your tough talk really puts kids with the dream of being a SEAL down or either the wrong impression. Best of luck to you in BUD/s hope to see you in the teams one day. remember the SEAL/s want a "TEAM GUY"
