I met with Petty Officer Tillman, Navy Recruiter, last night. He measured my height, waist, and neck to calculate my body fat percentage. I am over the limit, which I already knew. He had me take the Enlisted Screening Test (EST), which I did very well on. We spoke briefly about my criminal history. His position is that "they" will figure it out at MEPS. His focus at this point is on getting my weight/body fat within the acceptable range. I told him I wanted to take the ASVAB to get that out of the way while I work on the weight situation. He said his boss will not allow him to do that. He is going to follow up with me and take my measurements every two weeks to monitor my progress. As soon as I am within the acceptable range we will go to MEPS.
