I guess I will be the first to post in this group.
I am ex-Navy 1975-1984, was an RM1 when I got out.
I am the proud parent of two great kids. My daughter is in her second year of college at UWF (University of West Florida) at Pensacola.
My son in in the Navy and is currently with SBT-22. He graduated SWCC training in November of 2006 with class 54 witch was the first class to graduate with the new SB rating. He has since advanced to SB2 and is in workups for deployment.
From the beginning when he wanted to join the Navy I supported him and assisted with his training for 7 months while he was in the DEP program.
We trained every weekend at the NRC in Clearwater, Fl with a SEAL workout group. Even after my son left for bootcamp I continued assisting with the training of the rest of the group for 2 years. I just love watching thease young guys making something of themselves.
Well that is the short and sweet of it. I will be happy to hear from other parents of military people. Navy or other branches.
Take Care
