| ABOUT ME |
In college at The College of New Jersey and
graduating in May '09.
I have been trying to decide between applying for
a commission and taking the enlisted route to
become a SEAL, one quote on another forum though
has pushed me towards SEAL. Basically, someone
stated when deciding between commissioning and
SEAL you need to decide what you want more... to
be an officer or to be a SEAL.
First and foremost, I want to be a SEAL, I want to
serve my country and become one of the best of the
best in the process. There are plenty of obstacles
in the way, but I'm young and have always prided
myself on doing exactly what I want and especially
on doing what others say I can't.
Athletic background information-
I swam competitively for 14 years or so from the
age of 5 until I was in college. I also became a
swim coach for my own youth team at 15 and was
head coach at 17 (while still a member of the team
because it was a 5-18 league). While I may not be
the fastest swimmer around I certainly hold my own
and am VERY GOOD in terms of form and stamina.
I also wrestled for as long as I remember until
high school (broke my foot a week before varsity
tryouts and chose to swim instead), played soccer
on club and HS teams and did track (pole vault)for
my HS.
Extra-
College has not been nice to my body. After
graduating HS I was 5'11", maybe 6', and weighed
between 165-175 lbs. As of February 08 I was ~6'1
and weighed ~210, I'm now (April 08) down to about
185-190lbs and getting back to a regular training
and diet regiment to get my strength and stamina
back up.
