hey man sorry it took so long to get back to you. to answer your question, I honestly do not know yet. It all depends on what your gonna do in the Marines. If you go infantry your gonna live like sh*t. If you go to war your gonna spend quite a few days with no sleep or food. Your body will gain a good amount of self discipline that you will not forget. Will this help you mentaly to get through BUDs? Maybe, my guess is that you will def have a heads up on the average civilian, but I do not know yet and will find out in June. Also, the only time your prob gonna swim in the Marine Infantry is swim week in bootcamp. you swim with your cammies on and a backpack which will not help you out 4 years later when you go to BUDs. If you want to go into the Marines to get in shape for the SEALs. thats prob not a good idea either. you could prob do it, but your last year of the corps might land you in Iraq where you will have no swim time. I would not have been able physicaly to go to BUDs out of the Marines. I didnt even know what CSS was nor could I swim more than 2 laps wihtout getting tired. If you want to go SEAL without a doubt, then you will regret spending 4 years in the Marines. If this is the case then I would say quit your job right now like how I did, finish out your semester, and work your ass off everyday until it is ready for you to ship. If SEAL is what you really want then dont go into the Marines. hope I helped you out a little, hit me back if you have any more qs- Dave
