I spent many years teaching aspects of language at the high school and college level, but now I'm living my dream of being an author. The way I see it, my calling is to uphold the ultimate warrior as an example of what a man should be. My books are meant to extoll the virtues of the US Navy SEALs, to point out their very human flaws, and to make my readers believe in heroism. I often base my stories on real-life SEALs.

A man who has stamina, endurance, and mental strength; enough intelligence to avidly pursue knowledge, the commitment to practice what is not perfected; a man so fearless he's willing to grapple with his own emotions and face them honestly. A man with enough passion to last a lifetime. A man willing to laugh at his own follies. A man who loves animals and children. A man who knows when to play and when to be serious.

Quitters. People who don't like to read. People who lack self control. People who don't ever consider their purpose in life. People who hurt animals or children.

Writing--it's my job, too, but I would do it for fun even if I weren't published. Exercising--running, strength trainin, pilates, step. Singing songs from Broadway musicals. Reading
