Hi, I'm ok, my knee is getting better slowly. I hope your enjoying your new job. I've ended up taking two writing courses this month and I've bit off more than I can deal with. Have a great day.
Hey Courtenay! How have you been?Just stopping by to report a little news, our son Brody Aaden Maynard was born on April 17th,2008 at 8:43 PM!Also,I interviewed at the fire department last week for a full-time position and was hired as a firefighter/EMT.
That pretty much sums it up! Actually it sums up most things, doesn't it?
I was reading through the posts on NSW and even though there are thousands of members, it seems that the same dozen or so people keep popping up. In actuality, it seems that this is a fairly small community.
I am working the graveyard shift (1800-0430) for the next month and am bored out of my mind!
I just found out the my old unit is getting the call again and leaving in a month and a half. Not going with them is going to be a hard pill to swallow.
Thank you for the luck and I will do my best to live up to your words!
What is strange is that I wanted to be a Chief. When this whole commissioning thing started, I was going to respectfully decline. When the Chiefs in my unit found out about my intentions, they took me into a room and told me if they hear that I declined a commission, they would kick my....use your imagination.
At the risk of sounding overly mushy:
I may get bars on my collar but I always have anchors in my heart.
I've got some great news!I just found out today that I am the senior EMT on my shift now!And I've only been here almost a year.I guess my time in the Army is paying off.We are still waiting for the baby;I feel like it will be less than a week.Just popping in to keep you posted.
Hi Court, trying to catch you in YM. I need one of your sessions, and this time, I'm willing to pay! FTR, as a SEAL's Mom, I think you can do whatever the heck you want in here!
Hi Court. Been thinking about you. Hope everything is going good. I'm looking forward to the SD trip. Just a few weeks left and I can hardly wait. Amir is planning it for us so it should be fun. Hope to hear from you soon. TTYS. Marilyn
Hey. The kitty reminds me of my cat that died this year due a blood clot. I really miss him he was the coolest cat ever. Only 12 days till my knee operation YAY. Have a great day.
Courtenay, how are you doing/How is your son doing?Things at work have been pretty busy today;but I don't mind.I love this job;time goes by so fast. Are you having a good weekend?Hope you are doing well, give your son my best.Have a great weekend,Happy Easter,I'll keep you posted on the baby.
Hey Courtenay, how have you been doing? How is your son doing?Things have been pretty busy here between working 2 jobs and getting ready for the baby to get here.4 weeks and counting!I can't wait to hold the little guy,it's gonna be great!
Wow, well you look great to be a mother to someone who is already in the military much less that is already a SEAL. I would have never guessed that you REALLY were 45!
Hey Court, I still lurk around, too much damn drama to stay long. My chica is OK and junior is awesome thanks for asking. I am off to Iraq in about a week or so so I will probably be online more oftenas I will be piloting a desk around the desert.

Thanks for posting the SOCOM stuff. The whole series was interesting to watch. Does your son mind you calling him your baby? I hate it when my mom (in NZ we actually call mothers mum) calls me her baby and i'm 33. I guess parents have that prerogative.
Hi! Thanks so much for your message (PM), I responded too, take a look. Also saw the SOCOM video (Forum/Hootch). Left you a message. You've got to be SO PROUD! Wow Courtenay!! I thought you were talking about your the grand-baby not your grown-up baby. TTYS. Marilyn
Hi Courtenay. I was happy to see your note. Please check your PM I sent you a message there. I hope everything's been going good with you. TTYS. Marilyn
I will have you know however that those are the ONLY 2 photos I have scanned on my computer of myself. Well...at the least the only ones I'm willing to post on a public forum :P
The lifting at this point isn't meant to produce gains in muscle size. It's exclusively meant to keep strength levels up as I drop weight to a level where I can be an efficient runner. It's a bit tricky to balance, but, it can be done.
And stop with the compliments already, you're going to make me blush
I doubt that I'll ever stop lifting entirely Court, but, the focus has to change dramatically. Running is now the #1 priority. The strength elements, well frankly, will be a breeze for me. But, I'm going to keep working on them to post some really eye-popping numbers (~150, 150, 50). That's the goal at least.
Hi Courtenay. I tried to PM you but I am unable to. I talked with my husband about the genre your interested in writing about as he has read thousands of of sci fi books. Any way he suggested Iain M Banks especially the book called Look to windward. He also suggested others but I wasn't quick enough to remember the rest. Maybe we could set up a group on here for writers, for support and ideas etc.
