Thank you for your response, your time and advice is greatly appreciated. I will contact the proper channels so that I have a definite direction to follow. The recruiters I have spoken with have given me mixed information which led me to procrastinate (not an excuse just a reason for the delay). I wasn't certain of anything up until now. I trust in your word and will honor it by following your instructions. I will send you a lengthier response before 10-03-07.

Yeah there is not too much of my background just that I was very close to going into the Marines out of High school. I felt that I wanted to first experience some college life, but now since I am thinking of going into the Marines or Navy after college I would not want my schooling to go to waste and I want to go into the service as an Officer.  I want to continue being an education major but want something else on the side that I can use in the military.

My names Matthew from Chicago IL. I'm planing on meeting up with a recruiter toward the end of January to enlist under the Seal Challenge Program. I enjoyed reading your profile. I would first like to thank you for your service and your inspiring story. I would like to periodiclly ask for your advice once I actually sign the contract. I quit work and have no obligations to anything or anyone. I have nothing but time for the next 16 weeks. I'm studying for the ASVAB and training to surpass the PE standards. I dont want to waist my time or anyone elses even though my recruiter is trying to convince me to sign the delayed entrance program asap. I want to prepare myself first. I know the clock is ticking. I will be looking forward to contacting you with results before I ask for your time & advice.

I was supposed to go last year, but couldn't due to a conference I had to go to for work.  I may try to make it this year.  It isn't THAT far for me to go.

Hi Frogman.  Yep, my boy is still in the teams.  I just sent you a PM with the info you asked for.  Nice to "meet" you!

So you think you have what it takes to to be a United States Navy SEAL? if you can exceedingly surpass me than you might just have a chance!

SEAL training is the "most" demanding, toughest, brutal, excruciating training known to man.The percentage of DORs (Dropped On Request)is 80percent. Physically prepared, Mentally prepared trainees drop occasionally during "HELLWEEK". So you're saying that you have what it takes to be a United States NAVY SEAL?

Becoming a United States Navy SEAL isn't easy.A United States Navy SEAL isn't the job for everyone a SEAL cannot just be picked out of a crowd. As a Minnesotan and I tell you the truth, iam a better swimmer than many people, like Minnesotans I've been swimming since the age of ten and as physically prepared as I'am the mental ability to tolerate cold is by far the greatest Mettle obstacle, fear, and desire.Even as downright utterly prepared as iam, honestly i don't think iam ready to take the intense challenges awaiting me. If you think you have the fortitude, determination, desire and the ability to exceedingly surpass your fear most of all me? then you might just have a chance.

To those desiring to go to BUD/S.  “….SUCCESS TAKES TIME; PERSISTENCE, CONSISTENCY DETERMINATION, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY,

BELIEVING IN YOURSELF...”  "Navy SEALS"
