I didnt realize there are any age requirments for the corrective eye surgery, I had it this past october went from about 20/300 both to 20/10 L 20/15 R so i think thats a pretty good turn around.  3 months later fit for duty and ready to go.  Btw i was up and runing the next morning so dont worry about it setting you back just need to stay clear of the pool for a bit.
