I wanted you all to know that I will not be on the forum very much anymore, it was taking way too much of my time. I highly valued the friendships I have made and the people I came to know and care deeply about. I will be spending more time with my wife and family. After all, those ARE the most important things in life. You probably wont remember many of the things i've said but hopefully you WILL remember that I have CARED about so many of you. Some of you are already in Boot Camp and maybe already in bud/s. If you are, I commend you and just know I believe in you, those werent just words as you were training long ago. For those of you I worked to get out of trouble - STAY OUT OF TROUBLE! Think about the things you are doing before you do them and life will be much easier for you. Like i've said since coming here to NavySEALS.com, the Navy is a great adventure. And, each day is a gift. Serve your Country Proudly and with Honor, many have gone before you, will serve WITH you and will serve AFTER you. For the Record - NO, I was NOT a Navy SEAL. I was a Radioman. I served during the Cold War long ago. Take care of Yourselves and again, I am proud of you! - Jim

Jim - Roosevelt was WOW! I was in awe and speechless. It took me a while to realize the dream was real. Even at anchor 5km from me she was still HUGE! To be able to identify the F-18's, E-2's and HH-60's from that far was amazing. I'm hoping we get another visit now that this visit has proved so popular and such a huge success. Had fun drooling over the EOD guys. We got to watch 3 HH-60's transporting loads of cargo, got some wonderful photos of that and a video clip or two. It was a weekend of a life time and definitely a dream come true. I wish we could have toured Roosevelt but just having her here was a major achievement. The only sad moment was the first moment I saw her at 7:30am Saturday and wishing my dad had still been alive to see her. Watching her sail away on Tuesday was tough, but then my T-shirt arrived and I was all smiles again. The line of people that wanted to tour the USS Monterey came close to stretching a mile and people were standing side by side not single file. I'm hoping the number of people writing in to the papers and wishing Roosevelt had been docked will encourage the powers that be to invite another carrier and do just that.

I do hope you'll stop by and visit us all here on NSC from time to time. Your advice when I needed it was invaluable and helped me cope a great deal.

Take care.

Rainey.
