Hello sealheart. This is Romeo7. It's very unfortunate that you can't volunteer beccause you're a girl. You probably would go on to become a great SEAL if only trhey would give you the chance. I'm a 17 year old senior from Detroit, MI. I'm a male and I'm enlisted in the Navy as a DEP. I plan on becoming a SEAl as soon as I learn to side stroke. But anyways, I just wanted to say, I can only imagine how you must feel havinga dream that they won't let you accomplish. They feel you can't do it becausde you're a girl, and that's unfair. If it's worth anything at all, I'll keep you in mind when I go off to BUD/S,and I'll give it my best because I don't want to waste the opportunity that could have been given to you to pass. So, in a way, you'll be my motivation. Oh yeah, I noticed you don't have any friends, and neither do I, so I left an invite or whatever and I would love for us to be friends on this site. Anyways, i hope you consider the invite, and I'll talk to you later...

You'll have to read my response that I gave you to the message you sent me.  I believe that I have properly addressed your concerns and questions and provied you with a few alternatives to how you might best serve the Navy!    Keep a positive attitude and never quit chasing your dreams.

Hi Carone, My name is Marilyn.  I noticed you visited my page so I'm visiting yours too.  That is great advise "schatje" gave you.  There are so many options for you in the Navy that you don't have to be a SEAL to serve your country.  Though I know, being a SEAL must be the ultimate experience!  I'm personally fascinated by them. I do believe that allowing women in the SEALs would probably change the dynamics of the Teams so I tend to agree with their policy.  Feminist would have my head for that comment, but it is really what I think.  Anyway, good luck to you and don't let anything stop you from reaching your goals.  Have a happy holiday! Marilyn

Hey Carone, saw you stop by and gave your profile a read. I caught a show on the History Ch. about Snipers. In Russia, they trained 2000 girls as snipers. I was impressed and it reminded me never to underestimate anyone. As far as your desire to become a Navy SEAL, you have as about a good chance of becoming a SEAL as I do becoming the next Victoria Secrets model. Thats no reason to be discouraged though, Im sure many people would say the same thing to me , unless of course I became one. Its a boys club for now but you never know, anything is possible. There are some real good contacts on this site (Courtenay) is one of those that Im familiar with. One last thing though, (go with your heart) but I read a post by a SEAL that said if you want to serve your country, there are many other positions to fill to accomplish that. That was a message for all the wanna-bes ^_^ (Guys & Gals). I admire your desire though...your chances of becoming a SEAL are slimmer then mine, yet you still feel that that shouldn't stop you. Take care and I wish you the best.
