not much. school gets out next wednesday for me. I cant wait to have more time to do whatever likes sports, workin out, and sleepin in. How are u doin?
not too well in the Varsity tournaments. Pretty well in the JV tournaments. I wrestled at 140 so I was bigger than my opponents for the most part. But it was a great experience it's definitely my favorite sport. I don't really know how it compares to other states but I'm pretty sure that with a few exceptions, most good wrestlers up here would be pretty average down there.
Just one season at Service high school in Alaska. I got a late start because I only started going to public school last year. I wrestled mostly just to get a better base in MMA
nof i am planning on going to some tournaments but just some Folkstyle nearby tournies. I was going to go to a Edinboro camp but i decided not to. How bout you anything planned in the off season. Or any tournament you can recomend. I really haven't done any freestyle i did it one year but thats all.
Yeah my brother took second at our districts, but only fifth at regionals so he didn't go to states. Its pretty funny cause my brother does tilts all of the time.
no actually my brother was the one that did all the weight cutting he was like 125 during the summer. Then he lost it all in one night cause we had our hydration test the day befor. I was always on weight but i plan on cuting for next year
Well this year wasn't the best I wrestled at 103 but i was second String to my older brother. So i had to Wreslte on J.V. which sucked cause my brother was the top kid in our league I was the second. I took 1st at my Districts though so I did okay except for it being J.V. District and all but next Year is my year. How about your season
No MMA fights as of yet, but recently had a Muay Thai Kickboxing fight with the guy in my picture and train whenever i can, also did TKD since i was 4 and have countless tourtaments in that.hows wresting going?
I know how that feels. I don't really care when a perfect stranger or someone I really don't care about doubts my commitment or ability to do what I set out to do. Its when your family & friends that you do care about, decide not to support you. I have no family/friends that support me in what I do. I try not to concentrate on that and focus on my reasons for joining, to motivate/support myself. It would take a long time for me to describe all the reasons/circumstances that inspired me to attempt the SEAL challenge program. I will make it somewhat short & sweet. I've walked in many shoes so far in my existence of 28 yrs. I've experienced mental & physical pain that most haven't. I know what it feels like to be isolated, alone & hungry, scared and abused, physically & mentally abused. I will never allow myself to practice apathy and want to join a program that is the pinnacle of strength, wisdom/knowledge etc...if their was a program in the military called the "care-bears" because they were known as the best to make a difference, I would attempt to join them instead. To the best of my knowledge, SEALs are that organization. I don’t want to become the things I hate in life. If I had to sum it up in one sentence it would be that. To be strong enough to not become the things that I hate (apathy, injustice, corruption, inability to make a difference etc) There are a lot of banana peels in life. An individual can have everything going for him/herself (academically, physically, socially etc) but can still slip and fall on something unexpected. I am presently working on attaining impressive academic and physical scores to show to anyone that matters, that I am ready, fully committed and worthy to have the chance to prove myself. Once again, we'll see what happens. I think I've stepped on enough banana peels in life and learned how to spot most of them. Best of luck to you and wish you the best. Keep in touch. Feel free to exchange ideas about training/studying etc. Take care.
Very much so...just turned down my Uncle this week. He offered me his buisness on Ashland ave in Chicago. I worked for him before for 6 yrs or so. I turned down a guaranteed 6 figure income so I can pursue a SEAL challenge contract. I'll see what happens...running out of time though I need to be in BUD/s before my 30th birthday before Im no longer eligable. On the forums (on this site), someone posted that the oldest candidate to make it through BUD/s was 37 yrs old . Like I said, we'll see what happens . If you don't mind me asking, why is this program on your to do list ?
Hey Chilli, saw you stop by my page, did you get a laugh ? (I dont take computer stuff seriously) I wish I would have wrestled back in high school. My gym coach put me up against one of his students and I didn't know what to do...so I wraped my arms around his rib cage and squeezed till he gave up. Is that legal ? Anyway, its never to late to learn...I like MMA style fighting more though. Good luck with your training.
Hey Bro, sorry for the the delay in response. I don't ever know when I actually get a comment, as there is no alert. Anyways though, my training is going good :) Seeing some solid results and I'm confident I'll be where I need to be pt wise.
I want to get my sit ups and push ups into the triple digits, run/swim into the 8s and pull ups into the 20s. Ambitious, but I think it's possible :) How's your training going?
This year I wresteled at 171, but im not really good Im looking more into marial arts, like JIU JITSU or JUDO, im also thinking of bumping up tp heavy weight(over 230 or so) but i need to lift allot more to do that.
I live north of LA if your out here Go to the Beach for sure Then theres Six Flags which is kind of fun (Disneyland is overrated)theres some clubs out in LA never been but my friends say there pretty fun. You could also hit up the Crossfit in Encinetas (they started this site) Also if you get in touch with the Special Warfare center then you could probably get a tour of the Base. LT COM Kevin Williams was a wrestler I met him at a wrestling camp and LT COM Burton (i think thats his last name) is pretty cool both are active at the center. Just tell them you plan on going in after college and say you want a tour of the base.
Na I'm a ground guy I only like Folkstyle 64 are not to common but I've been to maybe like 3-4 they all lead up to state state is smaller they need the fat tournaments to clear all the people out to find qualifiers . Most of the time brackets are like 32 with <10 byes to start
slight tear in my MCL and yeah our tournaments are rediculous I have been to tournaments where its 64 man brackets like across the board. I got a couple 3rd places I always meet the first place guys in the semi's haha. I hate it when some people get easy rides to the finals and then you watch them get dominated by someone you lost like 5-8 to.
so your going to be the first in your family to be in the Navy SEALs? actually i did wrestling in 9th grade. its a pretty cool sport, i liked getting out of class to go to a tournament lol. i wrestled 112's. i got to wrestle 8 varsity matchs that year, (5-3). after 9th grade when all of the seniors left alot of people quit and the team was horrible so i just stuck with boxing and did't wrestle. if the team gets better ill join again though. is your team good? what weight are you going to wrestle next year?
