Hello! Saw that you stopped by my page and left a message. To answer your question, yes, I'm still chasing after an age waiver. I'll be happy to share any and all information I have with you if you have question. Just shoot me a PM.
Hi Mark! Thanks for the update on the sketch. I've got a brother like that, talented and creative with his hands. He's done everything from oil paintings, sketches (pencil and charcoal), makes his own furniture, music boxes, jewelery boxes, pens, and even built his own motorcycle complete with a Harley engine and did all the paint work himself. He is a jack of all trades but his main job is as a computer specialist with the VA.
Sounds great that you keep it in a special room devoted to you and the Navy! Everyone should have a room just for themselves in their home, especially if you live with others.
Thanks for your comment! I didn't think so,and certainly that was not why I started playing, but surprisingly many men find it attractive with women playing contact sports. Even if I don't quite understand it (muddy, scared, black eyed and mouth guard..) I'm glad it is so, gives another kind of role model for young girls. Ice hockey is impressive! Even if I am from northern Sweden, my skating skills have some to ask before I'd get in to that sport.. But a wild guess, you are still playing hockey?
As mrperry doesn't stand for Mr. Perry, which would have been fun and I might call you that, swe stands for Sweden. I'm an economist and marketer. But it would have been fun otherwise!
Yes, it's still called the big apple, the city that never sleeps etc. Showing your age? lol. I'm not that far behind! BTW, incredible pics. Take care, jen
Hi Mark! Thanks for the nice comments on the pictures I took while out in Coronado last week. Honestly, I'm just a point and shoot person and hope for the best. I took close to 200 pictures. I had never been to California for a vacation. Only a stop over in SF on my way to Hawaii back in the early 80's. I have a friend who tells me all the time that I have a good eye. That's when I tell him that I have 2 good eyes provided I'm looking far away and not at anything up close. I had to switch from using the led screen on my digital camera to the view finder. Without my reading glasses on, I can't see if the picture I'm trying to take is focused or not.
You should be thankful that you won't be in Chicago next weekend. Tuesday is the only day we won't have rain and/or thunderstorms and temperatures will be any where from the low 40's up to 60. It usually doesn't get warm here until after Memorial Day. Any temperatures higher than 65 prior to then are a fluke! Believe me, I've lived in this area my entire life. I'm definitely ready for the warmer weather, had my fill of winter's snow and ice.
Hi Mark, Your Mom will like Staten Island. Alot quieter than the rest of NYC. I live in Dallas now and just got back. I just went to NYC for a visit. If you're ever in NYC, let me know and I'll have some GFs show you around town. Any plans to visit? TTYL. jen
Thank you for the encouraging comments, they are much appreciated. I have somewhat changed my plans though. I am going to enlist now at a SEAL rate, and take BUD/S for an A-School, since that is now an option. The smarter path is the one you chose and I had originally forseen myself taking, but it is partly a financial thing and partly because I need the discipline. I am just not putting enough heart into my studies. I have my work cut out for me, but I've wanted this for a long time now and I have to give it a real shot. My second choice would be the SeaBees though; I am a carpenter/builder by trade. My best friend followed in his father's footsteps and became a SeaBee as well and he loves it. You all are true American heros and I support and respect everything you do for our country and others as well. It is a very honorable career. You will not see any Hollywood movies about SeaBees, but their always on my mind. Thanks again and good luck on your career path; I'm sure you will continue to prosper.
Hi Mark, Thanks for stopping by. Right now, it means spending quality time with my family and enjoying everything NYC has to offer. Reading your profile, it's amazing how much you've accomplished. When are your interviews, anytime soon? Wishing you the best, jen
Hi, thanks for your comment! I am in the beginning of my exam period right now, so it is a challenging, busy and stressful time. In preparation for my first exam on Monday ("Shipping investment and Finance") I am analysing the IPO of Quintana maritime Ltd. The challenge is really to identify the critical aspects in this particular case, since the information provided is substantial. In this discussion I have to be familiar with the current state of the shipping, shipbuilding and capital markets. A huge but interesting task. Enough abt me....U should really look forward to your studies, especially if this is something u are interested in and are going to work with in the future. I definitely think u will enjoy your time as a student. By the way, back to my studies... But it would be nice if u left more comments in the future. It is only me, my books and the computer here the next 3-4 weeks, so any comment will light up my day. regards Elisabeth
Will do MRPerry. I'm calling my recruiter today, and am in SD this weekend and next weekend, and plan on meeting with a SEAL Motivator out there that I'm now in contact with. I must say, my current recruiter is not giving me a great impression of the Navy, but I remain undeterred. I'll let you know as things progress.
Thanks. I didn't have the opportunity to learn a perfect strokes from friends nor an instructor though I did join a swim team in college. I picked up as i observe how world class champions swimming. Of course, through the internet, I picked up tips from Ian Thorpe, Alexandra Proprov, Ti-Swim strokes, Goswim from either youtube or elsewhere. You are right, swimming efficiently is always technique & technique, and lots of hard work and hours, days, weeks, months & years of practice. Regards
