The effort put into making sure the teeth are brushed and the hair is combed has not gone un-noticed, but your making the rest of us who hop in the morning to check emails and what not while making the kids lunch still in there pj's with bed head look bad.
Haha! Thanks for posting my quote - are you trying to say I need to calm down & take my own advice? Hahaha, you are evil. Oh well, as we in Italy like to say, Che sara, sara..
My long runs are mostly on Saturdays with a few thrown in on Tues and Thurs. I am logging everything and I am feeling pretty good though how about you? Oh and I am doing a 10k on Apr26th and letting my oldest do a 1k for the same day, he is pretty excited.
Hey K. Glad to hear there's only just over 2 weeks to go, its all down hill from here! I'm glad you at least got to hear a little bit on how he's doing.
I saw your post about your shifting date, I'm really excited for you. I guess you'll have to think about packing etc soon, at least it will keep you busy. Life is good here and been doing lots of writing etc. Can't wait to finish the stupid thing.
Hi! I was reading your post of advice today for the new member and I saw that you mentioned that your hubs is on the island. Nice mine too! Limited communication is a bummer out there. Well maybe our hubs will bump into each other. :) My hubs was supposed to be back this weekend but time got extended out there (typical) so maybe in the next couple weeks. Anywho, thought that was fun when I read that, but take care and hope all is well!
No, I am not staying warm. I don't know who decided that Rochester would be a good place to form a city but they were very, very wrong. I can't wait to get the hell out of here! You up by the adirondacks?
Nah I was forcing Economy(that is the hubbys nick name) to sit through Dirty Dancing that night. I got a running commentary the whole time in a psedo gay voice of how dreamy Patrick Swayze is. When I asked him to stop he said sure if you change the channel.
I haven't even hit the weights at the gym yet. I was working the cycle and tread last week but am sidelined this week with a flare up of my infection and now inflamation to the same area. Totally sucks without a doubt. I'm just doing cardio at home until I can't take the pain. Not much else I can do about it, so I deal.
I'm working on the badges for both you and GF...unfortunately PB was not very cooperative the other morning so I gave up and shut the computer down.
Hey its good to hear from you. I can understand your reluctance to make the days drag longer for you. Haven't been up to much, got writers block at the moment but i'm determined to push through it. PM me some time!
Cool I am heading back friday, with the whole house being sick with a bad cold I was playing nurse maid. Unforturnately you can't take them to the gym daycare until the sniffles are completely gone.
I'm planning on applying to OCS in 2011 after I'm done school and then go to BUD/S after that. If I don't get accepted to OCS I'll probably enlist then or wait a few months and reapply.
If I have any questions I'll ask, thanks for the offer!
Haha your telling me they said about 3-5 cm on the weather network, we ended up getting about a foot. And the hubby heard on the radio that the city is rationing our salt now because we have had such bad weather this year. Other than that I have 4 sickies here (well one is up where he lives during the week but he is calling me every 30mins, so much I offered to drive the 2.5hrs to go and get him). They better not get me sick my running is going awesome, I don't want to take anytime off before I start my training program on the 8th of Feb. I will be doing 5miles by Sat. How are your knees doing? Thanks on the kudos in the thread, I just really felt this is an important cause, and I agree I can't wait for the beer when we cross the finish line either.
I know I printed of my training schedule which is a 16wk program, then went and looked on the calendar for the exact day that I start it and was surprised that to find that it is Feb 8th.
Ha sorry,Shar just informed me about Community section etiquette today....well, hello! I guess it's a small world as they say; I like it at Fordham. I'd much rather be in the Navy though!
Agreed, I lose count too on small reps. Then I have to start over. No wonder some days are harder than others.
Great, I'm happy to know a veteran SD runner. When I have great runs, I don't worry about the length of the marathon. Not true when I have a bad day-I wonder if I'm going to make it!
I do believe it is getting a bit better. She isn't a sleep walker but a SLEEP TYPER now! OMG...the outrageousness just keeps on coming with that one!!!!
WHOO HOO!!! Great news to report...I have figured out how to keep GF's PWI and PWA comments ALIVE and for all to view! All we have to do is copy and paste them into another comment and our little Jiggly is...well...SCREWED!!! She can't delete comments that she didn't post...Bahahahaha!!!!
Go check out latenight's page where I already did the deed!!!
Hmmm- those are some tough decisions regarding moving. I vote for you drive out after the wedding- even if you only stay for 3 months, it will be an experience and you will have a nice SanDog summer. Plus, you will be out there already at marathon time- no dealing with time zone changes and such. And no 90-100 degree with humidity to deal with!
But, that is all based on the fact that I LOVE SD...it is the only place that I would be happy to move to if I had to move.
It's warming up here, it's 11. How was the marathon? Was it your first? I'm doing SD and I have no idea how I'll feel afterwards.
I like to ski, wish I was better. I snowplow...a lot! Last season I finally jumped (on purpose) and didn't have a clearance sale aftewards. I totally stuck the landing. It's humbling to try so hard to be really good and just suck. LOL. Those who ski, ski. Those who don't ski, ski anyway.
Tonight the plan is to run farther than 8 miles. I might try for 10 but we'll see. There will be some other strength building things going on too. How many sets/reps do you do with regard to the pyramid pushups? My upper body is weak in some areas, like push ups.
Yes, we do have those companies out in suburbia...but I'm a tough cookie and I'll head out sometime later this afternoon. Why are you waiting until after you're done...you should be drinking while your shoveling...not after!!!
Hey Sept. 18 is my b-day. Hummm that's not as cool as your hubby getting pinned. Over this way i've been running a lot, The weather has not been condusive to running outside but Sunday is supposed to be nice. Twenty degree and sunny. We might go skiing on Sunday or Monday. That's about it for now.
I am toasty warm now that I'm inside the house. It is 2 degrees here right now and -7 with the wind chill. I will be staying in until sometime tomorrow afternoon when I have to head to the grocery store...not looking forward to being out in this brutal weather. I am getting far too old for this crap...my bones are COLD!!!!
Also- you're totally right, the 13.1 distance is a nice distance- long, but not too long. For the marathon though, I don't care if I am crawling at the end, I am going to complete that 26.2! My main goal is to be faster than the cut-off times for re-routing, anything else will be gravy.
I have a treadmill at home in the garage, but lately I have been going out for my walks/runs. I find that I go farther (further?) when I am outside, since I don't have the lure of the couch inside just a few feet away.
We got about a 24 hour break. It started again about 2 hours ago and the high winds will hit around midnight. We will be in the single digits for the next several days! I am so over this winter weather already! I am with you on the curling up under a blanket and of course my laptop would come with me as well! Thanks for the great idea!!!
