wtf,
we had a fleet returnee pulled from dive school due to some clearance issues, but he was able to become a Navy Diver, which was great for him. I believe that you could get pulled for clearance issues at any time. From my memory, though, we were still filling out some SF86 info at dive prep so the investigation didn't begin until we were at NDSTC. Good luck.
Sorry for the lack of updates when we got here it was nothing but GO GO GO. got a few things to put out but first MAKE SURE YOU KEEP YOUR ROOMS CLEAN!!!!!!
Hopefully i just put enough emphasis on that because we just got done with about a 2 hour beating as an ENTIRE SCHOOL because the base CO did a random inspection and was shocked at the nastiness, called the school CO and chewed him out who came and chewed us out, who then turned us over to the instructors who beat us while spraying with fire hoses and all sorts of other "fun" stuff. So keep your **** in line and make sure it doesn't happen again.
Now onto actual class information, we just finished week 2 and will begin pool week on Monday and I'm definitely looking forward to it. We lost 4 guys so far 1 DOR'd, but he was on his way to mast anyway and they gave him an option go to mast and get dropped or DOR, 1 to injury, and 2 because they couldn't clear their ears and they had already been rolled once for the same issue. We have 2 other who had problems in the chamber and will be re-tested on monday if they can't they will be rolled back.
We had our first bay swim and they did it a little different. Instead of doing a full swim they had us do "sprints" we did 1 leg and then when everyone got there we did it again untill we did the full 1000. Only 5 of us made the times they set, i was one of them. We do another one Monday morning and this time it will be a full one and timed, looking forward to that one to.
We had our first test on Tuesday on diving fundamentals, you want to study diving physics, learn the gas laws and how they relate to diving, Diveing disorders and what the treatments and symptoms are, and dive charting.
Not to much else to put out if you want anythign specific just hit me up
as always, thanks for the update, keep up the good work.

Well now its definitely been a while since i posted anything here so got an update. We graduated dive school on June 3rd with 20 guys, we graduated 22 but 2 guys had to stay behind because of clearance issues, and got to Eglin the same day. We started class the next week, and when they say feeding through a fire hose they are not kidding, and started actually blowing **** up last Monday. So far we've only lost one guy, for medical not academic, and picked up 2 Air Force guys. Been here for under a month and alreasy i cant belive how much we've learned, or have had crammed into our heads, and damn still got a long road ahead but it will definently be worth it in the end.
sniper,
Congrats on getting there. How many did you guys start dive prep with? We just gave a screen test to a guy here in Bahrain. Our CMC and OPs O were here from Afghanistan. Great to see them. They brought a guy to screen and he didn't do that well, so they won't sign off on his package. It is a lot of info, huh?? How about that first week in Core 1. hahaha..i remember telling my wife (now ex wife), there is no way i'm gonna remember all of this. TMD's can be tough, so be ready for that. We lost a lot in that section. Take care. Good luck.
Well 470 is now in IED's, actually whats left of the original 470 is in IED's with 6 people. Do to rolls and such our class is pretty much 2 classes but the rest of the guys are only a week behind so they'll be in IED's next week and coming to underwater with us which is pretty cool. Did my first problem in the bomb suit on thursday and i can definently agree you can be the smartest person but when you put on that suit your IQ drops drasticly and you just doing things in a haze. But still its fun as hell you'll fell like you just ran a marathon by the time you get out of it. not to much else going on so as always if anyone has any questions at all dont hesitate to shoot me a PM or e-mail.
