Just curious to know how long it took you to work up to running 7-8 miles daily?

Not long enough.

To the OP:

Seriously dude, you were doing 2-3 miles daily and you jumped it up to 7-8 miles all of a sudden, and you wonder why you're having pains in your shoulders and your feet?

I wanted to test myself. The 2-3 milers were easy as **** and not challenging enough. I had originally planned to work it up and then one day I just felt inspired to go to 7/8 and it sucked. But after 2 days of recovery it wasn't so bad the next time, and the time after that was even better. Now they're fine, I just have a minor foot injury.

This is a 100% certain receipe for an injury .... to those reading this do not under any circumstances try upping your mileage like this as it makes no sense and only has one outcome and that is an injury ....

whoever {cannot remember your screen name} is doing this you should rethink this as everyday you go out for another 7/8 mile run you are upping the odds of an injury. This is not a sign of how strong you are but rather a sign of how ignorant you are about running/training. I know I am sounding harsh, my point is that I do not want you to suffer an injury ... drop your daily mileage to something more reasonable like 3/4 instead of 7/8.

I sometimes get them when im doing just a normal jog. I consider them like cramps. It could be from bad posture. But everyone is different when it comes to running. Mine never last longer 10 mins after i run. But a whole day sounds like something a doctor should look at. Last thing you want is for them to develop the day before a long anticipated upper body workout.
