I need to figure this out! Any pointers on what you do during the swim and stuff thanks guys!!
My advice would be- do a variety of different exercises in swimming. Do not put yourself in a box of practicing only certain strokes and distances.
Try to do some sort of cross-fit but only in the water. For example even practicing 50yard butterfly sprints or 200 backstroke sets will help your core, which will eventually help you with your endurance and speed in other strokes.

All breastroke

I'm going to the pool today, and will do your workout.
Feedback later.

Yea, thats a good workout. The 500 swims really test your endurance after leaving your energy at sprints.

After swimming for 30 minutes, I switched to a lane and did my 500yd. Did it in 8 minutes flat.
