In his first court appearance since his arrest, Eddie Lee Routh, the man accused of killing Navy SEAL Chris Kyle and his friend Chad Littlefield, pleaded not guilty Tuesday morning.
Chains around his ankles, Routh was moved under heavy security into the courtroom despite authorities wanting to arraign him by video from the jail due to the case being so high profile.
According to the arrest affidavit, Routh left the scene of the shooting in the truck of one of his alleged victims and confessed about the crime to his sister and her husband later that night.
The trial is set to begin on October 21, 2013.
