Special Operations Memorial Day 5k Run

Memorial Day is the occasion to celebrate and commemorate America’s warriors.  The Baltimore City Police Department Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 3 and the Baltimore City Fire Department Fire Fighters IAFF Local 734 together with Boston Street Running will be sponsoring the second annual Special Operations Memorial Day 5K Run to honor our warriors and provide direct financial support to the surviving families of one of America’s most elite fighting forces; the U.S. Navy SEALs.  All proceeds from registration/entry fees to this event will be donated to the Navy SEAL Foundation.

Date: Monday, 26 May 2014

Location: Boston Street Running, 2713 Boston Street, Baltimore, MD 21224

Time: Convocation 7:30AM, race start 8:00AM

Entry Fees: $25 until 26 May

The event will be held rain or shine, and entry fees are non-refundable.

Lottery Gifts:

All participants will be eligible to win running shoes, accessories and amenities from: Newton, Pearl Izumi, Puma, Swiftwick, 2XU, Under Armour, Nathan, and more!

Silent Auction:

The 2014 event will feature a very special opportunity to bid on and win unique and very special one-of-a-kind Navy SEAL Memorabilia kindly donated by former Executive Officer of Seal Team Two and Commanding Officer of Seal Team Eight.  All items will also be on display at the Boston Street Running store, 2713 Boston Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21224 on race day.  All proceeds from the auction will be donated to The Navy SEAL Foundation.

There is also a pdf available of the Silent Auctions items and a brief description of each piece for download.

Premiums:

The first 800 registered participants will be guaranteed to receive a premium custom designed SOFFE T-shirt with the race logo and sponsors.

Course Support:

Water and electrolyte replacement drinks will be available at the halfway point.  Police and course marshals will direct racers at major turns. The course will be clearly marked.

Post Race Events:

Music, refreshments, fresh baked goods and fruit will be available to all at the race day expo.  A silent auction featuring especially donated Navy SEAL memorabilia will be part of the commemoration along with race results, awards ceremony and gift lottery give-away.

Packet Pick Up:

Packets will be available for pick up from Friday 23 May to Sunday 25 May at Boston Street Running and also on race day from 6:00 AM – 7:25 AM at the start/finish area.
