On this day, June 6th, 1944 the initial assaults of Normandy began. The cost of D-Day was extremely high; with more than 9,000 allied troops killed or wounded. Today we remember and honor all those who served and sacrificed. Thank you for your courage, bravery, and for showing the rest of us why America is so great. We salute you.
The Naval Combat Demolition Units were instrumental in clearing the beaches for the assault force.
Please take a moment to remember.
