David Warsen Legacy 5K Run/HERO Walk

The David Warsen Legacy Team is hosting a run & walk event in honor of SO2 Navy SEAL David Warsen.  David was a very active person who loved fitness and the outdoors.  As family and friends of David, we want to honor him by celebrating his life and giving nature through a community event.  This event will be held on August 9, 2014 and includes a 5K fun run that will take place on the cross-country trail and a 1.5 mile walk on the campus of East Kentwood High School in Kentwood, MI.

This event is less about speed and more about having fun, like David always did!  Whether you are a serious runner or someone just looking for a way to remember David, this event is for you!  Bring your family for a morning of exercise and fun!  Children 12 and under can walk or run for free with an adult (t-shirt not included, but available for purchase at the event).  Please make sure to fill out a registration form for each child so that we have an injury waiver filled out for your child.

The objective of this event is to bring the community together to celebrate David’s life and to raise money to support other Navy SEALs and military who are currently deployed by sending care packages once a year filled with food, clothing and any other needs they may have.  Proceeds will also go to youth soccer scholarships, The David Warsen Service Scholarship, which will given to two East Kentwood Senior Athletes, and Acts of Kindness, Random or other.
