Protective Security Specialist/Interpreter (PSS/IT) – Arabic or Kurdish
Requirements:
· US Citizen
· Must have a valid US Driver’s License and US Tourist Passport
· Minimum 1 year high threat PSD experience (experience must come from operating in a high threat environment. I.E. – Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.)
· Level 3 proficiency in Arabic language.
· Level 3 proficiency in English language.
· Level 3 proficiency in Kurdish language (Kurdistan only).
· Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
· Honorable discharge from the military (if applicable)
Position Responsibilities
· Conduct protective security operations and provide medic support as required
· Driving the lead vehicle, principal’s vehicle, or follow-vehicle, whenever required in motorcade or similar operations
· Driving follow-vehicle and/or acting as response agent. Carries and operates weapons as specified in daily post and detail orders, or upon orders from the detail leader or shift leader
· Maintaining protective formation position during principal’s walking movements
· Participating in advance security preparations
· Manning the security post at principal’s residence or manning the Command Post, as required
Candidates will be required to attend a 45-50 day training package which includes physical fitness test (FLETC Standards) and a full medical evaluation.

Protective Security Specialist/Designated Defensive Marksman (PSS/DDM)
Requirements:
· US Citizen
· Must have a valid US Driver’s License and US Tourist Passport
· Minimum of (3) years armed security experience
· Minimum one (1) year high threat PSD experience (experience must come from operating in a high threat environment. I.E. – Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.)
· Graduate of a U.S. Military Sniper School (and subsequent MOS designation notated on DD214) or certified Law Enforcement Sniper School.
· One (1) year experience in defensive marksman skill sets to include Sniper/Observer
· Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
· Honorable discharge from the military (if applicable)
Position Responsibilities
· Perform as long range defensive marksman
· Participate in advance security preparation activities
· Maintaining protective formation position during principal’s walking movements
· Serve as a member of an Emergency Response Team / Quick Reaction Force (ERT/QRF) when assigned
· Driving the lead vehicle, principal’s vehicle, or follow-vehicle, whenever required in motorcade or similar operations.
· Authorized to fill labor categories of PSS and PSS/DDM

The FBI will be accepting applications for Special Agent candidates until March 16, 2015. Specific skills and backgrounds being sought include cyber security, intelligence, computer engineering, computer science, computer forensics, network administration, information technology, laboratory sciences, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, certified public accountants, bar certified attorneys, police/detectives, military, and pilots.
Speakers of foreign languages are also highly sought, with a priority for Arabic, Farsi, Pashto, Maghreb (Moroccan/Algerian), Yemeni, Afghani, Pakistani, Somali, Uighur, Chinese (all dialects), and Uzbek.
To qualify, each Special Agent applicant must be a US Citizen; be at least 23 years of age, but younger than 37 at the time of hiring (exceptions are given for Federal Law Enforcement Officers, 1811s, and veterans eligible for veterans preference); have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; have lived in the US for 3 out of the last 5 years unless directly deployed overseas by the US Government or military (including military spouses); and have a valid driver’s license and at least 6 months of driving experience.
Applicants must also have 3 years of full-time, professional work experience (at least 36 hrs per week). Exceptions to this requirement include applicants with eligible computer science or IT backgrounds, preferred foreign language speakers who score a 3 or higher on an FBI language test, former FBI Honors Interns with at least a 3.0 GPA (eligible for Phase I testing and then must complete 3 years of work experience before advancing to Phase II), applicants with a Juris Doctor degree, and applicants with a master’s and/or doctoral degree (can qualify with only 2 years full-time, professional work experience).
